Ehvert Mission Critical, a business unit within Salas O’Brien, is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator for a long-term independent contractor engagement.
This is an ongoing contractual engagement with a US-based company and is not limited to a single project. The role involves continuous collaboration across multiple internal IT and infrastructure initiatives based on business needs.
You will provide services as an independent, self-employed professional under a formal independent contractor agreement.

Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled IT Systems Administrator as an independent contract worker to support and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure and internal systems in a dynamic international environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for administering cloud services, user accounts, software licenses, hardware and software support, network monitoring, and ensuring secure and efficient IT operations for a globally distributed engineering team. You will collaborate closely with internal departments to support productivity, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to the implementation of modern IT solutions and technologies.
Strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure, including cloud environment, hardware, software, and networks.
- Provide remote technical support to employees and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Create, administer, and update user account settings, policies, and licenses within Microsoft 365 services.
- Participate in the implementation and deployment of new software products and IT solutions.
- Submit and manage requests for software licenses including Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam, Revizto, Elumtools, SKM, Dialux, Tekla, and other engineering-related software.
- Install, configure, maintain, and update software and hardware as needed.
- Monitor network performance and security and implement measures to ensure data protection.
- Manage user permissions and ensure compliance with internal IT policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with various departments to identify and implement IT solutions that improve operational efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain documentation related to IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Stay up to date with the latest IT trends and technologies and recommend upgrades and improvements when appropriate.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in IT administration or a related field.
- Written and spoken English B1 and higher.
- Strong experience with Windows 10/11 operating systems administration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting remote users in an international environment (100+ users preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fast learning ability and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Basic experience administering Microsoft 365 services including Admin Portal, Exchange, SharePoint, Security, and Entra ID.
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 licensing administration.
- Experience with ITSM or Help Desk systems would be a plus.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V would be a plus.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure would be a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco certifications would be a plus.
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
